Minutes of the open budget meeting for the fiscal year 2023-2024 AD


Today 23/05/2023 AD at 11:00 AM in Khagkanda Union Parishad office premises, the work of the meeting was started under the chairmanship of Mr. Md. Ariful Islam Saheb, Honorable Chairman of Khagkanda Union Parishad.

(Attendance of union people in the meeting is shown in Annexure “A”)


Honorable Chairman congratulated the dignitaries of the union present in the meeting and presented the issues mentioned in the budget in detail in today's open meeting regarding the draft budget of the fiscal year 2023-2024 AD. The Honorable Chairman of the Council presented the revised budget for the fiscal year 2022-2023 AD in detail in the meeting and it was approved unanimously.




On the other hand, the details of the income-expenditure items/sectors described in the draft budget for the fiscal year 2022-2023 AD were presented in detail in the meeting. President said in the budget speech that in this budget, 1% immovable property transfer tax money, money received from LGSP-3 upazila revenue fund and UP various fees, tax money are used for the development projects of important roads, drains, slabs etc. for the union. . Which is shown in the sector wise proposed draft budget.


Honorable Chairman also informed that in this budget, a new tax of Rs. 9,50,000/- has been imposed (due to the increase in the salary and allowances of the chairman and members) but if there are new settlements and new industrial factories in any place of the union, they will be brought under the tax. The realization has shown a slight increase.


In addition to this, the Honorable Chairman presented the various aspects/sectors of other income-expenditure mentioned in the draft budget proposed for the fiscal year 2023-2024 AD. It was unanimously decided to send the budget to the authorities for approval.


A request was made to the higher authorities for the final approval of the draft budget for the financial year 2023-2024 AD prepared in the meeting. As there was no further discussion in the last meeting, the President thanked all present and announced the end of the meeting.
